The drug delivery apparatus including at least one sensor configured to detect at least one of a drug delivery parameter and patient data and a portable communication device communicatively coupled to the drug delivery apparatus. The portable communication device includes an input device configured to receive data from the drug delivery apparatus, wherein the data includes at least one of a drug delivery parameter and patient data and an output device coupled to the input device and configured to display the received data.
