PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standing support and walking aid that, while facilitating transfer of an assistance-required person from a bed or the like, can make his posture stable when starting a standing posture after the transfer.SOLUTION: The standing support and walking aid 1 is equipped with a seating face 11 which is supported on a rear frame 9 side installed upright, which has a seat on which an assistance-required person sits on, and which is movable by a motor-driven cylinder device 35 between a relatively lower seating position and a relatively upper high position along the rear frame 9. The aid enables the assistance-required person to transfer from the side in the width direction onto the seating face 11. The aid includes side plates 13 that are freely rotatably supported on both sides in the width direction of the seating face and that can be displaced between a fixed position in which at least one is restrained upright relative to the seat and an extended position which falls along the seat and which forms a continuous face while extending to the side relative to the seat.
