FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatrics and psychology, and can be used in screening diagnosis of tension headache (TH) in adolescents. That is ensured by determining the signs of TH manifestation and evaluating them in points. Such criteria include: headache frequency: less than 1 day week 0 points, 1 day week 1 point, more often 1 day week - 6 points; presence of reasons provoking a headache: lack of sleep, excessive sleep, general fatigue, weather phenomena, weekends - 1 point; type of condition before a headache or at its very beginning: excitation, hyperactivity, anxiety, weakness, apathy, depression, difficulty concentrating, yawning - 1 point, tension, or tenderness of neck or occiput muscles - 2 points; headache force: does not disturb - 2 points, disturbs, without interfering with normal activities, - 3 points, worried, interfering with normal activities, - 0 points; headache localization: for forehead or temples - 0 points, in occiput area - 1 point, no localization or whole headache - 1 point; one-sided headache - 0 points, bilateral - 2 points; character of headache: pulsating - 0 points, monotonous, pressing, compressing - 3 points; presence of nausea: does not disturb at all - 2 points, disturbs, - 0 points; dependence of headache on physical activity: no - 2 points, hinders, irritant - 0 points; dependence of headache on bright light: no - 2 points, hinders, irritant - 0 points; dependence of headache on noise: no - 2 points, interferes, annoying - 0 points; presence of pain in the neck, back, waist, spine: no - 0 points, 1–2 times month - 1 point, more often 2 times month - 2 points. Obtained points are summed up and the value of the stress headache diagnostic index (DI-TH) is obtained. If DI-TH is equal to or greater than 15 points, a tension headache is diagnosed in adolescents.EFFECT: method provides informative screening diagnosis of tension headache in adolescents without using instrumental data by taking i
