Housing and housing assembly for substance removing an undesired respiratory gas component of a respiratory gas flow and an arrangement for ventilating
A housing assembly for a substance for removing an undesired respiratory gas component, i.e. a CO2 scrubber, comprises first 35 and second 36 housings provided in series, each comprising; a space (37, 46, Fig 4) for receiving the CO2 scrubber (38, Fig 4), upper 43, 50 and lower 44, 51 openings allowing for gas communication with the substance receiving space, and a channel 45, 52 extending through the housings. In the case of the first housing 35 - and optionally also in the case of the second 36 a wall (39, Fig 4) surrounds the substance receiving space and also extends beyond the space to define a flow redirection chamber 55. In use, the channel 52 of the second housing 36 is provided with an extension 60 which extends through the first housings flow redirection chamber 55 to connect to the first channel 45. Such an arrangement allows for gas to flow between the substance receiving spaces of the first 35 and second 36 housings through the upper 43, 50 and lower 44, 51 openings provided therein through the second channel 52, into the first 45, then to the environment. A reversal of this flow path is also taught.
