Methods and compositions are provided for the treatment of sideroblastic anemia (CSA) in patients bearing mutations in the SLC25A38 gene, a mutation that does not allow them to respond to vitamin B6 therapy. A therapeutically effective combination of glycine and folate and / or glycine and folic acid is employed to restore heme levels in the red blood cells of patients. This combination counteracts the deficiencies of the mutated SLC25A38 protein, a mitochondrial glycine importer, to boost intramitochondrial glycine levels and ultimately ameliorate heme production.Linvention concerne des procédés et des compositions pour le traitement dune anémie sidéroblastique (CSA) chez des patients présentant des mutations dans le gène SLC25A38, une mutation qui ne leur permet pas dêtre sensibles à une thérapie par la vitamine B6. Une combinaison thérapeutiquement efficace de glycine et de folate et/ou de glycine et de lacide folique est utilisé pour restaurer des taux dhème dans les globules rouges sanguins de patients. Cette combinaison compense les déficits de la protéine SLC25A38 mutée, un agent dimportation de glycine mitochondrial, pour stimuler les taux de glycine intramitochondriaux et améliorer finalement la production dhème.
