PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce number of times for response input by a subject, and shorten an amount of test time.
SOLUTION: An eye test apparatus having a visual target presentation means to present a visual target for eye test to a subjects eye and an input means to input a response signal by the subject as a result read out of the presented visual target so as to automatically test the subjects eyesight from the result determined whether the response is right/wrong, includes a control means to control the visual target presentation means, continuously switch the presented visual target from a higher eyesight value to a lower eyesight value at a predetermined time interval, stop controlling the continuous switching of the visual target when the response inputted with the input means is right, and switch the visual target from the result determined whether the response is right/wrong whenever the response signal is inputted, or to control the visual target presentation means, continuously switch the presented visual target from the lower eyesight value to the higher eyesight value at a predetermined time interval, stop controlling the continuous switching of the visual target when the response of "illegible" is inputted with the input means, and switch the visual target from the result determined whether the response is right/wrong whenever the response signal is inputted.
