PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning type endoscope apparatus capable of limiting the quantity of laser light applied within a certain period of time.SOLUTION: An optical scanning type endoscope apparatus includes: scanning means for making the top of an object 100 scanned with light from a light source； a light quantity detection part 15 for detecting the quantity of the light from the light source； and a control part 31 for controlling output of the light source on the basis of the light quantity detected by the light quantity detection part.
