The device has an elongate body having a 5 flexible portion and a stiffened portion extending from the flexible portion, the stiffened portion can be gripped by a grasper for manoeuvring the device about a gastric conduit of a patient, and a locking mechanism that is operable to secure the flexible portion in a looped configuration.
