PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid detergent composition causing no crack during usage, exhibiting no decrease in foaming, not staining the bath room and the like, and capable of being obtained by a mechanical kneading method.SOLUTION: A solid detergent composition contains (A) 65 to 95 mass% of a fatty acid sodium salt, (B) 3 to 15 mass% of an alkyl ether carboxylic acid or its salt, the alkyl ether carboxylic acid being represented by formula (1) (wherein R1 is a 4-22C alkyl group n is the number of 0 to 20 and M is a hydrogen atom, an alkaline metal, an alkaline earth metal, an ammonium or an organic ammonium), wherein the average carbon number of R1 is 10.8 to 12.8 and the alkyl ether carboxylic acid contains >9.6 mass% and ≤27 mass% of the component of n=0, and ≥21 mass% and <40 mass% of the total of the component of n=1 and the component of n=2, and (C) water.
