PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suggest technology for selecting disease names expressing synonymous diseases.SOLUTION: In a disease name selection apparatus, storage means 1 stores diagnostic information including disease names and their diagnostic dates, and determination means 4, 5 extract first medical examination dates and the disease names from the diagnostic information stored in the storage means 1, acquire appearance frequencies for every predetermined period by using the first medical examination dates of the respective disease names, determine similarity in tendencies of temporal change of the appearance frequencies concerning one disease name and other disease names, respectively, and select the disease names whose tendencies are determined to be similar as synonyms to be output.【課題】 同義の疾患を表現する疾患名同士を選定可能な技術を提案する。【解決手段】 疾患名選定装置は、記憶手段１が、疾患名とその診断日時とを含む診断情報を記憶し、判定手段４，５が、記憶手段１に記憶された診断情報から初診日時と疾患名を抽出し、各疾患名の前記初診日時を用いて所定期間別の出現頻度を取得し、一の疾患名と他の疾患名とにそれぞれ係る出現頻度の時期的変化の傾向の類似性を判定して、前記傾向が類似すると判定された疾患名同士を同義として選定して出力する疾患名選定装置。【選択図】 図１
