PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which enables a further increase of intake of calcium from the small intestine than the calcium absorption accelerating material having been proposed up to now.
SOLUTION: The calcium absorption accelerating composition comprises calcium and a carotenoid, and the carotenoid is preferably cryptoxanthin and/or its derivative. Specifically, the above composition comprises calcium and a powder obtained by adding a food processing pectinase enzymatic agent, cellulase, and a hemicellulase enzymatic agent to the residue after pressing the juice from Citrus unshiu, subjecting the mixture to standing reaction, thereafter removing the supernatant, drying the residue, and pulverizing the dried substance.
