A nuclear magnetic resonance imaging or magnetic resonance imaging device comprising a coil system (1) having N pairs of coils (10, 20), where N is an integer greater than 1, said coils (10, 20) being extending at least partially along an envelope surface (E) of the revolution-symmetrical coil system, each coil (10, 20) having at least two opposite portions (11, 21) defining an associated plane (P1, P2) parallel to a first median plane (M) of the envelope surface (E) containing an axis of symmetry (Y) of the envelope surface (E), the opposite portions (11, 21) of the coils (10, 20) of the same pair being arranged symmetrically with respect to the first median plane (M), the opposite portions (11, 21) of a coil (10, 20) being arranged symmetrically with respect to a second median plane (N) containing said axis of symmetry (Y) and perpendicular to the first median plane (M). Dispositif de résonance magnétique nucléaire ou d'imagerie par résonnance magnétique, comportant un système de bobines (1) comportant N paires de bobines (10, 20), où N est un entier supérieur à 1, ces bobines (10, 20) s'étendant au moins partiellement selon une surface enveloppe (E) du système de bobines à symétrie de révolution, chaque bobine (10, 20) comportant au moins deux portions opposées (11, 21) définissant un plan associé (P1, P2) parallèle à un premier plan médian (M) de la surface enveloppe (E) contenant un axe de symétrie (Y) de la surface enveloppe (E), les portions opposées (11, 21) des bobines (10, 20) d'une même paire étant disposées de manière symétrique par rapport au premier plan médian (M), les portions opposées (11, 21) d'une bobine (10, 20) étant disposées de manière symétrique par rapport à un deuxième plan médian (N) contenant ledit axe de symétrie (Y) et perpendiculaire au premier plan médian (M).
