PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To examine the ability of a subject to discriminate similar shapes.SOLUTION: A subject is made to arrange the following pieces in the order of stepwise changes starting from a first-step shape and leading to a seventh-step shape: a first piece A1 having the first-step shape a seventh piece A7 having an Nth-step shape different from the first-step shape (however, the size is not apparently different from the first-step shape) a second piece A2 to a sixth piece A6 having a second-step shape to a sixth-step shape respectively, the second-step shape to the sixth-step shape each representing a stepwise shape change starting from the first-step shape and leading to the seventh-step shape.
