PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article having excellent urine leakage preventing effect and enabling production at a high speed, and also to provide a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION: The method for producing an absorbent article includes a continuous body forming step (1) in which a continuous body 100 including a plurality of absorbent articles arranged continuously in the longitudinal direction is acquired by bonding a surface sheet material 82 and a rear sheet material 83 together while sandwiching absorbent bodies 4 each including an absorbent core 5 covered with a core wrap sheet 6 between the sheet materials, and a cutting step (2) in which the continuous body 100 is cut at boundary lines CL extending in the width direction of the continuous body 100 and locating between neighboring two absorbent articles. The core wrap sheet 6 has a longitudinal length L2 shorter than the whole longitudinal length L1 of the absorbent article, and has an extension 6A that extends outward and in the longitudinal direction from a longitudinal end 5a of the absorbent core 5. During the continuous body forming step, each absorber 4 is arranged between the sheet materials 82 and 83 in such a way that the extension 6A of the core wrap sheet 6 strides across the boundary line CL in the extending direction of the extension 6A.
