PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for enabling a user to recognize image quality in each region of a reconstructed image generated on the basis of an acoustic wave signal.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device for acquiring characteristic information inside a subject by using an acoustic wave signal output from a detection element having detected an acoustic wave having propagated inside the subject includes: a characteristic information acquisition unit that uses the acoustic wave signal to acquire characteristic information at each attention point inside the subject an accuracy information generation unit that uses a condition on acoustic wave detection, acoustic wave detection information, to generate information showing difference of accuracy among a plurality of pieces of characteristic information and a display information generation unit that uses the characteristic information at each attention point and the information showing difference of accuracy to generate display information making it possible to recognize difference of accuracy among the plurality of pieces of characteristic information before making the display information be displayed on a display unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
