Provided are ultrasound system and method of detecting a pressure applied to an object through an ultrasound probe. The ultrasound system according to the present invention includes: an ultrasound data acquiring unit configured to acquire, by using the ultrasound probe including a strained body which is strained by a pressure applied thereto and has a damping factor and an elasticity factor, ultrasound data corresponding to a body and a processor configured to generate an ultrasound image by using the ultrasound data, calculate a strain rate of the strain body caused by the pressure using the ultrasound image, and detect the pressure by using the calculated strain rate.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015초음파 프로브를 통해 생체에 가해지는 압력을 검출하는 초음파 시스템 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명에 따른 초음파 시스템은, 압력에 의해 변형되고 뎀핑계수 및 탄성계수를 갖는 변형체를 포함하는 초음파 프로브를 이용하여, 생체에 대응하는 초음파 데이터를 획득하도록 동작하는 초음파 데이터 획득부 및 초음파 데이터를 이용하여 초음파 영상을 형성하고, 초음파 영상을 이용하여 압력에 의한 변형체의 변형률을 산출하고, 산출된 변형률을 이용하여 압력을 검출하도록 동작하는 프로세서를 포함한다.
