This invention relates to an apparatus for travelling over a ground surface, the apparatus including detection means for detecting an area of the ground surface (or sub-ground surface) which has had a deposition of excreta, and treatment means for treating the area with at least one substance. The apparatus may preferably be automated. In a preferred embodiment, the excreta being detected may be cattle urine and the substance(s) used to treat the area of deposition of urine may be a nitrate inhibitor and/or a urease inhibitor.La présente invention concerne un appareil pour déplacement sur une surface de sol, l'appareil comprenant des moyens de détection pour détecter une zone de la surface de sol (ou une surface de sous-sol) qui a eu un dépôt d'excréments, et des moyens de traitement pour traiter la zone avec au moins une substance.
