PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microneedle and a microneedle array having excellent diffusibility of material.SOLUTION: A microneedle is shaped like a cone, a frustum or a shape of the apex of a cone replaced with a curved surface or a flat surface. The microneedle has a height of 20 μm or more and less than 500 μm, the aspect ratio (h/a) of the height h to the maximum length a of a base is 2 or more, and the microneedle is formed of mesoporous material. A microneedle array includes a plurality of microneedles on a base material.
