PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbing resin composition that exhibits little liquid diffusion after contacting liquid to be absorbed when used in an absorber or an absorbent article and that does not cause problem on wearers skin, such as a rash.SOLUTION: The absorbing resin composition includes absorbing resin particles (A) and a hydrophobic material (B), wherein a weight-average particle size of the particle (A) is 50-350 μm, and the material (B) is a 14-30C monohydric alcohol having a melting point of 40-90°C. Preferably, the material (B) is a monohydric alcohol having a straight chain saturated hydrocarbon group, and the content of the material (B) is 0.1-1.0 wt.% based on the weight of the particle (A).
