The absorbent core has a low-density section that exhibits a lower distribution density of liquid-absorbing fibers than do the surrounding sections and is formed in the location of the folding line in the widthwise direction, a skin-side layer positioned on the skin side in the thickness direction relative to the low-density section, and a non-skin-side layer positioned on the non-skin side in the thickness direction relative to the low-density section. However, the liquid-absorbing fibers are present in the low-density section.
