A radiotherapy ring 26, 28 apparatus features a chassis portion 26 and a source portion 28 containing a source 34 of a radiotherapy treatment beam 40. The source portion 28 is tiltable relative to a vertical face of the ring 26, 28, such as around rotatable connections 30a, 30b on an axis 32. In this manner when the source portion 28 is vertically aligned with the ring 26, 28, a standard treatment can be applied to a patient, with the beam issuing as the ring 26, 28 rotates around a horizontal axis 18. When the source portion 28 is tilted, an alternately directed treatment can be applied, again normally during rotation of the ring 26, 28. The device may further include a diagnostic x-ray tube device 44 and an imaging panel 46, on an axis orthogonal to the beam 40 axis, to take images of the treatment area of a patient 22.
