The invention relates to a bone harvesting device 10 for use in oral and orthopedic surgery. The device comprises a drill body 36 for drilling into bone and is rotatable about a central longitudinal axis L-L, and a saw 30 which pivots relative to the drill body 36 about an axis M-M parallel to the central longitudinal axis L-L of the drill body 36. The drill body 36 includes a cavity 38 which is open at a lower open longitudinal end of the drill body 36. The saw 30 is pivotable relative to the drill body 36 between a first position in which the saw 30 is clear of the lower open longitudinal end of the drill body 36 and a second position in which the saw 30 blocks part of the lower open longitudinal end of the drill body 36.
