The injection device is coupled to a source of liquid. The treatment system also includes a control system coupled to the delivery device and the injection device. Alternatively, the control system is adapted to control the injection device to release a fluid into the cooled breathing gas mixture to form a frozen mist of fine ice particles in the cooled breathing gas mixture.
