Hangover after drinking alcohol entails side effects such as headache and heartburn. Hangover results from a toxic effect of ethanol or acetaldehyde accumulated in liver cells. When such materials are accumulated in liver cells for an extended period of time and detoxification continues, fatigue, abdominal inflation, nausea, and the like follow. Native mulberries are known to be effective for liver cancer treatment as a home remedy. Regarding biological activity effects of the native mulberries, researches on an extract having anticancer, anti-diabetes, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial effects, of having a hangover elimination effect have not been reported.
