PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorbing resin excellent in water-absorbing performance, capable of improving absorption performance under a load when being used for an absorber; and to provide a water-absorbing article using an absorber including the water-absorbing resin.SOLUTION: A water-absorbing resin 5 is obtained by polymerizing a water-soluble ethylenic unsaturated monomer in the presence of an internal crosslinking agent, and by performing post-crosslinking thereof with a post-crosslinking agent.
