PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide HPMCAS powders having high solubility at the time of dissolving in a solvent and capable of suppressing generation of undissolved materials, and to provide production methods thereof.SOLUTION: Provided is a hypromellose acetate succinate powder having the mean value of the ratio (L/D) of a maximum diameter (L) and a minimum diameter (D) of 2.0 to 3.0.
