The invention proposes a method for calibrating a cleaning device (112). Thecleaning device(112) has at least one sensor (134) for detecting at least one state variable.The method comprisesthe following steps:a) carrying out a calibration measurement, wherein the at least one statevariable is detectedand at least one reference value is determined by means of at least onecalibration sensor(113) independently of the sensor (134) of the cleaning device (112)；b) establishing an electronic connection between the calibration sensor (113)and acontroller (128) of the cleaning device (112), and electronically transmittingthe referencevalue to the controller (128)； andc) comparing the reference value with at least one measurement value of thesensor (134) ofthe cleaning device (112) and adjusting at least one correction function inaccordancewith the comparison, wherein future measurement values of the sensor (134) ofthecleaning device (112) are automatically corrected using the correctionfunction.
