Such packs are standard therapy in a range of situations including acute and chronic injury, however the unsanitary nature of the use and reuse of these packs often excludes them from professional healthcare environment and poses an often-unrecognised risk in domestic and public situations. The hygienic disposable wrap is used to accommodate the treatment pack and self fasten it to the treatment area, providing a physical barrier that reduces the potential for infectious material to be transferred to and from the treatment pack. The low cost disposable cover is single use only and discarded after use, at which stage the treatment pack can be decontaminated and stored. The hygienic disposable wrap can also be used to place treatment packs over dressings, to immobilise body parts, reduce static posture of patents and carers and as a communication device.
