Disclosed herein is a biopsy device for efficiently sampling a specimen from a biological tissue, particularly if the biological tissue is a soft tissue. The biopsy device includes: an elongate shaft； a piercing spike for piercing a biological tissue, the piercing spike being disposed on a longitudinally distal end of the elongate shaft； a screw disposed on the elongate shaft, for guiding a specimen sampled from a living body from the longitudinally distal end of the elongate shaft toward a longitudinally proximal end thereof； and a screw cutter disposed on the screw, for peeling the specimen off the living body. The screw cutter peels the specimen off the biological tissue while the piercing spike is piercing the biological tissue.
