A walking type tiller (1) which transmits a driving power from an engine (20) to a tilling device (60) via a belt drive mechanism (200), characterized by including a main transmission case (1300) which houses a main speed change mechanism (300) that transmits the driving power transmitted via the belt drive mechanism (200), to the tilling device (60) in a manner to be capable of speed changing, and a sub-transmission case (1400) which houses a sub-speed change mechanism (400) that transmits the driving power transmitted via the belt drive mechanism (200), to the main speed change mechanism (300) in a manner to be capable of changing a speed of the driving power, the sub-transmission case (1400) being disposed between the belt drive mechanism (200) and the main transmission case (1300).
