A method of reducing the frequency of urination, including: administering to a subject who needs it, an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition containing acetaminophen, wherein said acetaminophen is administered in a daily dosage of from 1 mg to 2000 mg. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said pharmaceutical composition is a delayed release composition. The method of claim 2, wherein said delayed release formulation comprises a material selected from the group consisting of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, methyl cellulose, methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, acrylate copolymers, polyethylene glycol cellulose, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, hydroxymethyl cellulose, polyvinyl acetate phthalate, shellac and ethyl cellulose. 4. The method of claim 2, wherein said delayed release formulation further comprises glyceryl monostearate or glyceryl distearate. The method of claim 2, wherein said delayed release formulation comprises a water-insoluble capsule body that is closed on one side by an insoluble, but permeable and swellable hydrogel plug, wherein said plug contains a material selected from the group consisting of polymethacrylates, degradable pressed polymers, hardened polymer melts and polymers capable of controlled destruction by enzymes. 6. The method of claim 2, wherein said delayed release formulation comprises an enteric coating. The method of claim 1, wherein said acetaminophen is administered in a daily dosage of1.
