PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved dialysis systems and improved methods of performing dialysis, more particularly, systems and methods for performing automated peritoneal dialysis (APD).SOLUTION: The system and the method perform dialysis treatment, in which dialyzate is pumped to a patient, and spent dialyzate is pumped out of the patient automatically. In addition, the system and the method can perform various dialysis treatments. Examples of the dialysis treatments to be performed include automation of filling, dwelling, and draining of the dialyzate to and from the patient.
