A horticultural cage comprises a fabric, e.g. mesh or netting enclosure secured by ground pegs 30, each ground peg having a hook or like retaining element 33 which is secured above the ground surface the fabric being connected to the hook in tension so that the fabric sides of the enclosure can be released and re-attached without removing the ground pegs from the ground. An intermediate region 37 of the ground peg which extends above the ground surface includes an abutment surface 41 for limiting the insertion depth and/or a resilient, flexible connection 42 so that the hook (34) can collapse and spring back to its rest position without damage if trodden or rolled over.
