PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processor for an electronic endoscope which is capable of automatically recognizing the position of lesion and automatically superimposing a mark indicating the position of the lesion on an endoscopic image.

SOLUTION: The processor for the electronic endoscope includes: an image conversion means for converting an image captured by an imaging element to digital image data a lesion position specifying means for processing the digital image data, estimating the lesion included in the image corresponding to the digital image data on the basis of the shape of the bit pattern of a mucous membrane included in the image corresponding to the digital image data, and also specifying the coordinates of the lesion and a marking means for superimposing image data indicating the mark indicating the position of the lesion on the digital image data on the basis of the coordinates specified by the lesion position specifying means.
