Apparatus for preparation of an intraocular lens assembly prior to insertion thereof into the eye of a patient including a pair of elongate extension assemblies each adapted for connection to an end of an haptic of the intraocular lens assembly and a method for preparation of an intraocular lens assembly prior to insertion thereof into the eye of a patient including providing a pair of elongate extension assemblies each adapted for connection to an end of an haptic of the intraocular lens assembly and connecting one of the pair of elongate extension assemblies to each haptic of the intraocular lens assembly.
