Methods and devices are provided for securing tissue to bone. In general, asuture leadercan have leading and trailing ends, and an inner passageway configured toreceive a strand ofsuture therein. More specifically, the trailing end of the leader can beconfigured to receive thestrand of suture therein to form an overlapping region of suture leader andsuture. When thesuture is positioned in the leader, an outer diameter of the leading end ofthe leader can be lessthan an outer diameter of the over lapping region. The leader can have a lowerbending stiffnessthan the suture so that the leader can be more easily folded into a bend. Incertain aspects, thesuture leader can be formed from a substantially flexible, braided material sothat the leader canbe configured to contract when a pulling force is applied to the leader. Inanother embodiment, the suture leader can have a pre-formed crease configured to mate with athreading tool.
