The multiparticulate composition comprises a plurality of individual enteric coated cores containing one or more terpene active ingredients and has a continuous proteinaceous subcoat layer wrapping the individual cores and separating individual cores from their respective enteric coatings. A continuous, proteinaceous subcoat layer prevents the volatile terpene-based active ingredient from leaving the core, even if the core is stored at room temperature for longer periods of time or is heated during processing.
