PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniform dispersion of ellagic acid capable of being readily used and introduced into cosmetic compositions without causing instability of the compositions.SOLUTION: The aqueous dispersion of ellagic acid or its salt or its ester comprises a nonionic surfactant selected from a copolymer composed of a polyethylene glycol block and a polypropylene glycol block. The aqueous dispersion constitutes a stable dispersion of ellagic acid and is useful as an intermediate preparation in production of cosmetic or dermatologic compositions.
