PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eco-friendly fishing hook having excellent corrosion resistance, good workability, and high safety, and having a low cost.SOLUTION: The fishing hook is produced by using a steel containing 0.1-0.8 mass% of carbon as a matrix, and plating the matrix with an alloy containing 2.0-4.0 mass% of silver based on the amount of tin into a calculated surface thickness of 3-6 &mum. Alternatively, the fishing hook is produced by using a steel containing 0.1-0.8 mass% of carbon as a matrix, and plating the matrix with an alloy containing 0.7-4.0 mass% of copper based on the amount of tin into a surface thickness of 3-6 &mum.
