PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel which prevents a guiding pipe from jouncing without causing a trouble in the rotation property of a traverse cam shaft and exhibits an improved built-in workability of a level-wind mechanism.SOLUTION: The fishing reel is equipped with a level-wind mechanism which is in between the frames of a reel main body and consists of a traverse cam shaft which rotates by interlocking with the rotation of a handle and has a cam groove formed on its outer periphery a guiding pipe which covers the traverse cam shaft and clings between the frames and a fish line guide body which is fixed on the guiding pipe, has an engaging nail passing through a long hole prepared in the guiding pipe and having engaged to the cam groove, and goes back and forth along the axis direction on the guiding pipe accompanying to the rotation of the traverse can shaft.
