A capsule guidance system according to the present invention includes a plurality of electrode pads (5) for performing human body communication with a capsule endoscope (2) inside a subject (1), a magnetic field generator (15) for generating a magnetic field to guide the capsule endoscope (2), a magnetic field change detector (17) for detecting the time rate of change of the magnetic field, a position calculator (9) for calculating the position of the capsule endoscope (2) on the basis of voltages detected by the plurality of electrode pads (5), and a control unit (14) for controlling the operation timing of the position calculator (9). The control unit (14) obtains the time rate of change of the magnetic field from the magnetic field change detector (17). When the obtained time rate of change of the magnetic field exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the control unit (14) recognizes that an eddy current due to the magnetic field is generated in the subject (1), and stops the position calculator (9).
