A back and hip band, a head band, a neck band, hand band, waistband, armband, wristband, leg band or foot band garment for abutting at least part of the body and providing thermal support particularly for pain relief or therapeutic benefit. The garment has at least one hollow fibre layer (2) attached by fixing means (3) to at least one surface of at least one supporting material layer (4). The hollow fibre layer (2) has an outer exposed fur surface (6) whereby the garment is adapted to in use be wrapped around a target area of a least part of the body of an animal or human such that the outer exposed fur surface (6) of the garment is oriented to directly abut the target area. The garment is breathable in that excessive temperatures, moisture or perspiration is not able to be held within the garment to provide stable or consistent thermal properties. Fastening means (3) is provided on one surface (15) of the supporting material layer (4) to enable the garment to be fixed in place on the target area. The fastening means (3) comprises lace up, hook and loop fasteners or similar located on or under side of the supporting material layer (4).
