The present invention provides a thin plate-type toothpick comprising: a body unit having a particular width and length and formed in a thin plate shape which can be inserted between a tooth and another tooth； and a projection unit extended over a smaller width than the width of the body unit from one side or both sides of the body unit and inducing the insertion of the body unit between a tooth and another tooth. According to the thin plate-type toothpick of the present invention, because the projection unit for inducing the insertion of the body unit made of a thin plate between a tooth and another tooth is prepared in one side or both sides of the body unit, the body unit can be stably inserted between a tooth and another tooth. Moreover, the front end of the projection unit and the edge of the body unit are rounded so that the projection unit and body unit are inserted between a tooth and another tooth. Then, the gums or teeth are prevented from being damaged so that foreign materials inserted between the teeth can be effectively removed without damage to the teeth or gums. Furthermore, materials in bottom end and top end parts between the teeth can be simultaneously removed with a single use of the toothpick. Holes are formed in the surfaces of the projection unit and body unit, and foreign materials which are not removed due to the insertion of the projection unit and body unit can be re-filtered through the holes.
