PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a metal filter at low cost which can secure a sufficient contact area between a fluid such as passing air and a catalytic layer or an absorption layer, improve passing efficiency by keeping the passing resistance of a fluid, that is, pressure loss low, and efficiently obtain an excellent purification effect.SOLUTION: A metal filter is configured which has through grooves 10 extending in a column direction to make a fluid pass through in one or both of a columnar crest 20 and a trough 21 of a metal plate body 2 where a plurality of crests and troughs are alternately formed, and has standing pieces 30/31 standing on the convex side of the crests 20 or the troughs 21 in the opening edges 11 of the through grooves.
