PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of rotating a picked-up image to an arbitrary angle while maintaining an image pick-up direction in a state that an insertion part is bent.SOLUTION: An endoscope includes: a grip part 2 a linear part 4 extending from one end disposed on the grip part 2 side to the other end disposed on an observation object side that is disposed rotatably around an axis line extending in the longitudinal direction with respect to the grip part 2 a hard part 6 to which an image pick-up unit 6a is attached, and which is guided to the observation object and a bendable insertion part 5 disposed between the linear part 4 and the hard part 6, which is disposed so as to be rotatable together with the linear part 4 around the axis line with respect to the grip part 2, and is inserted into a body together with the hard part 6. The hard part 6 rotates accompanying the rotation of the linear part 4 and the insertion part 6 together with the image pick-up unit 6a while maintaining a direction that the tip of the hard part 6 is directed, and an angle formed by the direction that the tip of the hard part 6 is directed and an axial direction of the linear part 4 in an axial direction view of the linear part 4.
