[Solution] The functional air filter is obtained from weft yarn and woof yarn comprising thermoplastic core-sheath type composite monofilaments of composite fibers having a core and a sheath material of a resin having a lower melting point than the core, by thermally fusing the sheath material together at the yarn intersections, the filter being characterized in that the composite monofilaments are designed such that a portion of particles incorporated into the sheath material are exposed on the surfaces of the sheath material.
