The present invention pertains to a process for the preparation of functionalized trihalomethoxypyridines of formula (I) comprising reacting hydroxypyridines with thiophosgene in the presence of a base reacting the obtained chlorothionoformiates with elemental chlorine and finally converting trichloromethoxy pyridines to trihalomethoxy pyridines using a fluoride source.La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de trihalogénométhoxypyridines fonctionnalisées de formule (I) comprenant la réaction dhydroxypyridines avec un thiophosgène en présence dune base, la réaction des chlorothionoformiates obtenus avec du chlore élémentaire et enfin la conversion des trichlorométhoxypyridines en trihalogénométhoxypyridines en utilisant une source de fluor.
