PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure steam sterilizer which starts an operation when a lid body is in a credibly closed condition and allows to open the lid body in a safety condition after sterilization.
SOLUTION: When the lid body 2b closes, a lock pin 3 moves in the axial direction and a locking portion 3b at the front end of the lock pin is inserted into a locking hole 4a. By rotating the lock pin 3 in such condition, the locking portion 3b engages with the locking hole 4 and the movement of the lock pin 3 in the axial direction is regulated. A control section 6 then moves a stopper 5a of a locking mechanism 5 toward the locking portion 3b and makes the stopper abut on the locking portion. By doing so, rotary movement of the lock pin 3 is regulated and the lock pin is interlocked. When the internal pressure of a chamber 1a becomes almost the same as the atmospheric pressure after sterilization, the control section 6 moves the stopper 5a of the lock mechanism 5 away from the locking portion 3b and the lock pin 3 is released from the interlocked condition and becomes rotatable. By moving the lock pin 3 in the axial direction, the lid body is opened.
