Pharmaceutical compositions for interfering with neuronal transmissioncomprising an effective amount of at least one tricyclic 3,4-propinoperhydropurine and at least one additional compound are disclosed.Preparations for topical applications are provided that comprise an effectiveamount of the composition of the invention and a pharmacologically acceptablecarrier. Methods of interfering with neuronal transmission comprising topicalapplication of an effective amount of the at least one tricyclic 3,4-propinoperhydropurine are provided for treatment of a variety of indicationsthat relate to muscle relaxation, anesthesia, muscle spasms and similar causes.
