The machine i.e. rotary swather (1), has a raking wheel (4) driven around a raking wheel axis (5). A roller feeler (10) is assigned to the raking wheel, and suspended at a roller feeler carrier (12) connected with a machine frame (2). The carrier is supported adjustably and laterally relative to the raking wheel. The carrier is tiltably suspended around a perpendicular rotation axis (13) such that the roller feeler is positionable in different sectors of the raking wheel. The roller feeler is arranged outside the raking wheel ring covered by the raking wheel.
